Igiugig Village Council

In 2006, the Igiugig Village Council, together with other members, formed "Iliaska Environmental LLC". The Igiugig Village Council, as majority member in the company, has a successful track record of customer satisfaction and development of local talent and village infrastructure.

In 1998, the Igiugig Village Council formed Iliamna Lake Contractors LLC (ILC) to provide training and work opportunity in the construction industry for local residents. ILC is 100% owned by the Igiugig Village Council and is a participant in the Small Business Administrations 8(a) program.

Since its inception, ILC has been successful beyond expectation, returning a dividend to the Village Council on an annual basis. Successful projects include the demolition of the Air Force's former Big Mountain Radio Relay Station and associated soil remediation activities, construction of roadways and airstrips, and other support services for a variety of agencies including the Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the Alaska Department of Transportation. In addition, ILC has been managing the IRR Roads program for the Village of Igiugig and several other villages in the Lake Iliamna area.
